Join Dave at the train station at 10:30 for a trip to Rochester’s Sweeps Festival – one of the largest May Day celebrations of its kind with a fantastic selection of Morris dancing\, folk music and more! \nRochester is well-known for its links to Charles Dickens – he lived in this area and it inspired many of his stories including the house that inspired Satis House in Great Expectations (Restoration House). Visit Dickens World or experience a Dickensian Christmas if you’re here in December! Rochester has a wealth of history\, with a castle\, cathedral (England’s second oldest – built in 604)\, museums\, shops and characterful streets or visit the Historic Dockyard at nearby Chatham. \n
