Powell-Cotton Museum Quex House & Gardens

The Quex estate has been in Birchington since the 1400’s but there’s never been a better time to visit than now. The park offers beautiful grounds and stunning gardens as well as restaurants such as mama feel goods & the quex barn offering tasty local produce. As well as paint-balling, an indoor children’s amusement and a farmers market there’s plenty to do. The Powell – Cotton museum is without doubt the main attraction of the site, it was established in 1896 by Percy Horace Gordon Powell-Cotton (1866-1940) to house natural history specimens and cultural objects collected on expeditions to Asia and Africa. Quex park is one of the UK’s most fascinating visitor attractions, we strongly recommend to all our students.
