Churchfield House

Churchfield House, next to Culver House and English in Margate, was opened in 2007 due to the popularity of our self-catering accommodation. As with Culver House, it is refurbished to a high quality and offers all the equipment and services mentioned for Culver House. The two bedrooms, however, share one bathroom.

Accommodating a maximum of 5 people, it can be booked by the room for individuals or couples or as the entire house for a group or family.

Churchfield House is a two hundred year old town house situated in the centre of the town next to the school. It has been completely refurbished to provide a high standard of accommodation for those students studying at English in Margate who prefer self-catering accommodation.

Accommodation

Churchfield House is fully furnished and comprises 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 kitchen and a sitting/dining-room. In addition there is a private courtyard equipped with garden furniture. The property has individually controlled central heating in all rooms. There is WI-FI internet access throughout the building for students bringing their own laptops. (Students may also use the internet café in the school). The fully fitted kitchen is well equipped.

Smoking is not permitted in any part of the building.
Fresh bed linen and towels are provided weekly.

The accommodation is cleaned throughout once a week but guests are expected to maintain a reasonable level of cleanliness.

Churchfield House is WI-FI (high-speed wireless internet access) enabled. Students with WI-FI enabled notebook computers can access the internet and check their e-mails from anywhere in the building and in the garden.

Skype.com would allow you to use your portable computer to make cheap calls to friends and family back home.

Churchfield House has a fully integrated fire alarm and smoke detection system and is protected at the front and rear by security cameras.

Tuition

Students staying at Churchfield House may join any of the Standard or Intensive group courses at English in Margate. Individual lessons are also provided at English in Margate in the afternoons.

A student may also have individual lessons at time of day at Churchfield House, morning, afternoon or evening and at weekends. In addition social afternoons and evenings can be arranged (e.g. cultural, traditional pub, castles, gardens Canterbury cathedral etc) accompanied by a native speaker.

Please also note that we reserve the right to use the sittings room during morning class times of 9:30 to 1 pm for one to one lessons so long as there are no guests staying at Churchfield House without joining lessons.

Christmas Holidays

English in Margate closes for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Year.
Churchfield House is available during this period for students wanting accommodation at the standard rates.

Individual lessons and tailor made programme can be arranged during this period (excluding the official bank holidays) The tuition fees for this programme would be quoted on request.

All students staying at Churchfield House are English in Margate students and therefore have access to all the facilities at the school and are welcome to join the social activities and club evenings.
